As photographers we always want to have our work shown and to be able to create for our audience. But what if the only audience you have at the moment is on social media, and you’re aiming to publish your images on a photography platform? In this article I collected platforms that support more contemporary photography.

Self Publish, Be Happy is an organisation dedicated to shaping contemporary photography and visual culture through publishing, online and offline events, and education programmes.
Over the years Self Publish, Be Happy has supported a network of emerging photographers around the world, amassed a huge following, partnered with leading institutions such as Tate Modern, Foam and Aperture, and expanded its remit to match an ever changing visual culture.
Aperture was created to advance photography, a not-for-profit foundation. They connect the photo community and its audiences with the most inspiring work, the sharpest ideas, and with each other—in print, in person, and online.
Aperture is published four times a year. It features photographs by established and emerging photographers, as well as artists experimenting with photo-related media. Each issue is usually themed and includes writings by critics, scholars, photography practitioners, and others involved in the field of photography.
Unlike the the rest of the publications, this annual publication showcases only the new talents. Foam Talent Call is a search for exceptionally talented photographers from all across the world. Selected artists receive a number of career-building opportunities, including publication in Foam Magazine’s annual Talent issue, participation in (online) programmes and events, as well as the potential to be added to the prestigious Art Collection Deutsche Börse.
