For this reason, it is essential to have an invoice and send it at the same time every month. Your invoice should specify when the payment is due and what happens in case of delayed payment.

What to Include in The Template?
Invoicing is very essential for any business and that means that it has to be given attention. A vaguely worded invoice can result in delayed payment.
Invoices usually include basic information that is relevant to every freelancer;
Your Template Should Include:
- Information of the sender
- Account Number to receive the payment
- Invoice Number
- Issue Date
- Due Date
- Payment amount
- Additional notes
The issue date is the date you make your invoice. The due date is the date your client needs to pay for the invoice. This is usually either 7 or 14 days from the issue date and should be written in additional notes just to clarify it for the client
When to Send The Invoice ?
The invoice is more than a reminder to your customers of the payment they owe you for services rendered. It is also a tool that can market your skills and get you more contracts.
Avoid sending in your invoice template late so that the client doesn’t feel comfortable delaying payment. Teach yourself to keep time in every transaction that you have with your client. Keeping time on your end of things will also help guarantee that your client sends payment at the required time.
